Terms and conditions of the contest:

The subject of the competition is an archery-themed essay (1 to 2 pages for children aged 8 to 13 which is A4 standard - form 1,800 to 3,600 characters) and consistently (for those over 13 years of age, from 2 to 6 pages, which is 3,600 to 10,800 characters including spaces and punctuation.)

 

The entries may include photographs or illustrations, in which case the manuscript may be of greater length in accordance with the photos/illustrations included. illustrations and photographs must be described and their author or authors indicated, or bibliographical data (or references to websites) provided.

Please send your entries inscribed with name and surname and followed by a brief biographical note in Docx or RTF format, or ODT. We do not accept works in PDF. The document should be typed in Times New Roman font, size 12, with single line spacing. Entries in other formats will not be considered in the decision-making process and will be disqualified.

 

The main prize in the competition is a €100 voucher to be used in the Archery Spot NI shop. Second and third place prizes are t-shirts with Celtic archery styling. The main prize is one, meaning the only one winner is to be selected from both age categories.

 

The winning essay will be selected by the TIFAM editorial board through a voting process. The decision of the editorial board is irrevocable, and the editors will not make public the motives or the voting process.

We look forward to receiving your entries until 23:59 on the first of December 2022, entries received after this date will not be included in the vote.

 

We do not send back entries and we do not explain why your entry did not win the competition. The winner will be announced on the 15th of December 2022 and his/her essay will be published in the 14th issue of TIFAM, and other media of our editorial platform, along with the full name and photo of the victor!

 

The competition is open to all participants aged 8 years and above, it is a worldwide contest with no restrictions on country of origin. Please submit entries in English only, entries in other languages will not be considered and will result in immediate disqualification. Please note that all dates and times refer to the time zone in Dublin, County Dublin (GMT+1).
